The early days are so precious, blink and you might miss them. Which is why I encourage bookings for newborn shoots as early as possible.
For newborn sessions most families book in advance for a week after estimated due date to be certain the appointment is ensured, these advanced bookings can be moved if needed, I fully understand that little ones don't always make their appearance when expected so usually check in with you a few days before the session booking if you haven't got in touch already to discuss options and see if little one has arrived or we need to re-arrange the booking date.
I can create stunning artistic shots with both parents included in the shoot and siblings too, so small family groups are welcome, although the main focus of these sessions is usually on your baby so I do strongly suggest for newborn shoots immediate family only.
If you are visiting the page and little one is already here, don't panic, while I do truly believe the first 2 weeks are ideal I can do newborn shoots up to around 10 weeks of age and get fantastic results. So get in touch, I'll always do my best to acommodate late bookings.

Your beautiful images will last you a lifetime and will bring you so much joy in the years to come. Investing in a professional experienced and trained in newborns who understands their and your needs at this sensitive time will be so worth it, which is why I strongly recommend getting in touch early so we can discuss any ideal poses you are looking for and I can meet & exceed your expectations.
I have over 20 years experience in studio photography, but not only that, two gorgeous girls of my own, I know how pregnancy and labour can put strains and pains on your body, how exhausted you can get after they arrive, and I do not judge at all if the laundry gets piled up in those early days. My focus is all about the things I care about - delivering you and your family stunning unique portraits and ensuring you and your most precious family members are safe, comfortable, relaxed and happy.
What to expect during your newborn shoot :
The vast majority of my work is done in your home, so you don't need to go anywhere, or worry about having what you need with you. If however you do prefer a studio session let me know and we can get that booked in for you instead.
I arrive with lots of kit, backgrounds, posing props, wraps and much more. It takes around 15 min to get set up, and once we are ready I work with great care posing your baby ensuring safety is paramount at all times, any images of babies hanging or being lifted unsupported are composite images, so no babies are ever put at risk. I try to keep this nice and relaxed so there is no pressure on you or your child. If they need a feed, or changing (inevitably this happens at some point) usually 3 hours provides plenty of time. So you can stay relaxed throughout. Newborns need a lot of snuggles, and cuddles, and between background and prop changes a nice cuddle with mum wrapped in your favourite blanket will help keep them relaxed and happy.
If you do prefer a studio session I can now offer this at my home studio in flixton.

I would suggest where possible having your baby as ready as can be for the session really helps me a lot, stripped down to a nappy only and wrapped in a nice warm blanket will help reduce markings on their body from clothing and help keep them settled as we transfer to wrapped/ naked posing. Having your home a little warmer than usual is helpful too (particularly in winter), as I do focus a lot on naked and lightly wrapped newborn photography and new babies can't regulate their body temperatures like we can, so having the room warmer than usual for them when they're going to be lightly dressed is so helpful to ensure they're content and comfortable.
I bring a range of props and posing kit with me, which is growing all the time but if you have something you would like in the photos too just let me know. And do have a think before the shoot about keepsakes that you could include or special outfits that really mean something to you and your family, while I do focus mostly on nude/ wrapped if there is something you want included in the shoot I will always do my best to encorporate it, if it is something a little more unusual do let me know in advance so I can have chance to come up with some creative ideas.
Do feel free to let me know of any colour preferences as well, neutral browns and creams have been extremely popular along with floral images as well but I have a growing range of lovely colourful backgrounds as well, and will be expanding this over the
coming year.
I can include pets in the session too, these will normally be a composite image for baby safety.
