What to expect during your maternity shoot:

We'll chat about which images you'd really like to aim for, if you've seen something somewhere else I'll do my best to create those images.
Depending on your choice of location or home session or a session at my home studio in Flixton I either come prepared with all my kit, backdrops and dresses, or if outdoors I'll arrive with my changing tent, dresses, and all important camera or you come to me and we can have fun in the studio.
I work with you, so if you're struggling with hip pains, getting in and out of some positions we will avoid those, and work to get your ideal photos.
Partners, and soon to be siblings are always welcome, and can enhance the session not only in the portraits but off camera too being fantastic helpers for you.
If you don't have either available for any reason we can do the session just with you, or if you wanted a little extra moral support your mum or a close friend would be welcome as well.
With home sessions we can also look at doing milk bath shoots if you are interested in those though to let me know when we're planning the session, there are lots of options, but we can talk about those in advance.
You don't have to be fully dressed throughout, but also you don't have to be naked or semi nude if you don't want to,.. these are images for you, so it's entirely your choice.

Full editing is included with all our photography, this usually includes a little light re-touching to make you look like you but on a really good day, if you do have any specific requests though do let me know.
I bring the studio to you in your own home, I will do everything I can for you to make the experience as comfortable, relaxed and fun as possible.
The in home studio sessions usually include 2-3 different backgrounds and I come with a range of outfits/ props/ fabrics all ideal to use during the shoot.
If you prefer a location shoot we can totally do that, I love getting outdoors! you can wear your own clothes, or I have some lovely outfits ideal for out door wear, and will be adding more over the coming year. We can discuss colour combinations and locations for your session in advance of the date. And I do have a pop up changing tent I can bring along for you.
I recommend that the best time for these photo shoots to take place is between around 30-36 weeks this allows your bump to be in full bloom, but does not leave it till the very last minute. Don't miss out on these beautiful portraits by leaving it too late. Often expectant mums book in around the time of their 20 week scan for maternity portraits and booking their newborn session at the same time.
My ever growing collection of outfits and equipment now allows for location maternity sessions with some beautiful dresses.
Great for couple shots and family poses too, getting outside and it's just fantastic capturing the season along with your growing family and amazing figure- shh! It is amazing! No matter how big or uncomfortable you feel I think pregancy is just incredible! And I hope that shines through in the photos.
Be daring, be amazing, be a mother and celebrate that time. It's not always easy, I know from experience it can be damn painful, but it is also a truly amazing time in your life, when your body is doing the most phenomenal things. These photos may or may not take pride of place on your walls, but they will definitely take pride of place in your heart.
